Our Story & Craftmanship

Founded by Ziad Mohammed Rasoul, BY ZMR is a UAE-based leather and footwear manufacturing company that has been at the forefront of footwear craftsmanship for over 30 years across the GCC and MENA region.

We specialize in high-quality men’s sandals and custom footwear, with a strong focus on traditional Arabic men's sandals. From private label and OEM manufacturing to wholesale distribution of our in-house brands, we support brands and retailers through end-to-end manufacturing, combining skilled craftsmanship with premium leathers sourced from Europe.

Our journey began in 1993 with the opening of our first store in Dubai’s historic Gold Souq, a location we proudly continue to operate to this day. In our early years, we operated as a trading business, importing and exporting sandals that we manufactured outside the UAE, serving regional markets and building a deep understanding of customer preferences, fit, and quality.

As our experience grew, so did our ambition. Driven by a passion for traditional Arabic sandals and a desire to elevate their craftsmanship, we made a defining transition, moving from importing to manufacturing locally in the UAE. This shift allowed us to take full control of design, materials, and production, ensuring higher standards of quality and consistency.

Today, BY ZMR operates its own manufacturing facility in the UAE, producing premium men’s Arabic sandals that blend heritage-inspired design with refined, hand-finished and authentic craftsmanship. Our journey reflects an evolution from retail and trading to fully integrated manufacturing, grounded in tradition and shaped by decades of experience.
